The client is an architecture studio based in Central London. They have been operating for 7 years and have a team of 14 architects and designers.

JOB SUMMARY:

A family office team is looking for a Mid-weight Interior Designer / Architect or Interior Architect to join its in-house design studio. The role will focus on producing technically accurate, fully coordinated drawings and detailed specifications for bespoke joinery, FF&E, and high-end interior elements across ultra-prime residential and hospitality projects. 

This mid-level position offers the chance to work closely with creative leads, suppliers, and contractors, translating visionary concepts into detailed, buildable designs that reflect the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality. You’ll take on a high level of responsibility for a significant building in Central London, focused on leisure and hospitality. The concept design is already in place, so you’ll be responsible for driving the project through to completion. 

RESPONSIBILITies:

  • Produce technical drawings and detailed documentation for bespoke joinery, furniture, bathrooms, lighting, finishes, and ironmongery. 

  • Draft and detail interiors packages including general arrangements, sections, elevations, and technical details. 

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive specification schedules covering finishes, sanitaryware, lighting, fabrics, and more. 

  • Liaise with suppliers, fabricators, and contractors to ensure technical feasibility and adherence to design intent. 

  • Attend and contribute to design workshops and coordination meetings. 

  • Identify key decisions and information requirements, ensuring timely resolution. 

  • Manage design revisions and incorporate redlines, maintaining accurate technical records. 

  • Review shop drawings and prototypes, ensuring quality and compliance with design intent. 

  • Prepare coordinated tender and construction documentation packages for issue via controlled transmittals. 

  • Collaborate with the studio’s graphic designer to produce branded presentations and design collateral. 

  • Support studio infrastructure by developing reusable details, templates, and maintaining digital resources and filing systems. 

Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years’ experience in interior design or interior architecture with a technical emphasis. 

  • Strong technical ability in producing detailed construction information for bespoke FF&E and joinery. 

  • Proficient in AutoCAD; Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Excel; familiarity with BS 1192/ISO 19650 standards advantageous. 

  • Extensive knowledge of luxury suppliers, specialist manufacturers, and materials. 

  • Understanding of design and build processes aligned with industry standards and RIBA work stages. 

  • Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

  • Ability to manage complex information and work collaboratively with consultants and contractors. 

Package:

  • Salary range: £38,000 – £48,000 per annum, dependent on experience. 

  • Full-time, studio-based role with site attendance.
