JOB SUMMARY:

An award-winning architecture and design practice known for its commitment to design excellence, sustainable innovation, and educational sector expertise is seeking a talented and motivated Architect to join the team.

This is a key delivery-focused role, ideal for a registered architect with a minimum of 3+ years’ post-qualification experience, looking to take on greater responsibility within a supportive, collaborative environment. You’ll be working across a range of meaningful projects, many within the education sector, bringing design thinking, technical skill, and strong project coordination to every stage of the process.

Working under the guidance of senior architects and principals, you’ll contribute to both concept development and detailed delivery. You’ll have the opportunity to lead aspects of project implementation, collaborate directly with clients, and help shape solutions that are both design-led and technically sound.

This is an ideal role for someone with strong Revit skills, a solid understanding of UK building regulations, and a desire to work in a practice that values quality, culture, and professional growth.

The role also suits someone with experience working closely with trusts and educational institutions, and who thrives in a team-oriented, purpose-driven studio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the preparation and development of complex technical drawing packages and implementation documents

  • Generate creative, buildable design solutions in response to client and project briefs

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to develop design strategies and ensure timely delivery

  • Support project planning, programming, and scheduling across multiple workstreams

  • Validate compliance with building codes, planning, and zoning requirements

  • Attend site visits, project meetings, and field reviews as required

  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies to deliver project goals

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders

  • Assist with product research, material selection, and technical detailing

  • Contribute to the resolution of technical issues and design challenges

  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and contribute to a positive studio culture

  • Participate in internal project reviews, quality assurance, and design crits

Skills & EXPERIENCE:

  • ARB-registered architect with minimum 3 years' post-Part III experience

  • Proven delivery experience across all project stages (RIBA 0–7)

  • Strong technical and design skills, with a clear creative voice

  • Proficiency in Revit (essential), with experience in BIM360/ACC workflows

  • Working knowledge of UK building systems, codes, and construction processes

  • Effective communicator with excellent written, verbal, and visual presentation skills

  • Experience working with education sector clients and managing stakeholder engagement

  • Strong coordination skills with consultants and contractors

  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, resources, and priorities across multiple projects

  • Comfortable working both independently and within a team

  • Detail-oriented with a passion for quality and innovation in design

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience leading design sessions with schools, academies, or educational trusts

  • Familiarity with sustainability standards and environmentally responsible design practices

  • Working knowledge of Enscape, Rhino, Navisworks, and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience preparing fee proposals, schedules, and scope documentation

  • Interest in mentoring, studio culture, and collaborative leadership

This is a rare opportunity to join a respected design-led practice where your contribution will shape the outcomes of purposeful, impactful projects, particularly within education and community sectors.

You’ll be supported by senior leaders who value design thinking, personal growth, and meaningful collaboration with clients. If you’re ready to take the next step in your architectural career, delivering real impact while developing your leadership potential, this could be the perfect role for you.
