Head of Business Development
bespoke product design, London
Salary: £90,000 - £120,000
A leading design studio in London is seeking a business development specialist to join their team.
JOB SUMMARY:
A leading design studio in London is seeking a business development specialist to join their team. Known for their multi-layered approach to narrative-driven craftsmanship, the studio’s work spans fine art, design objects, and the creation of new materials. They collaborate with clients such as (U)HNWI, interior designers, brands, and public bodies on public commissions.
Their work can be found in iconic super-prime real estate, yachts, public spaces, and galleries globally. With everything handcrafted and designed in London by a highly talented team, the studio has been operating for 20 years and is now looking to expand its business.
The head of business development will play a pivotal role in driving sales within the architecture and design (A&D) community, promoting a range of products crafted by the London design team. This role involves actively seeking new leads, building relationships, and nurturing existing clients. It’s a warm opportunity with a great brand and product to promote.
You will be responsible for contributing to the studio’s sales target, developing strategies, understanding trends, and keeping a pulse on where the market is headed. The aim is to demonstrate tangible growth over the next 5 years, improving workflow and collaborating closely with the leadership team.
This role will involve close collaboration with design teams, craftsmen, and the founders to ensure success. Salesforce is used to monitor and track sales information.
KEY Responsibilities:
Meet studio-wide sales targets and contribute to overall commercial performance.
Develop and foster a performance-based culture.
Maximize sales activities through process analysis and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Work closely with leadership team to develop, measure, and manage individual performance goals and KPIs.
Deliver on strategic goals for new sales opportunities.
Analyze current sales processes and performance, recommending improvements where possible.
Present, influence, and secure new pipelines of work.
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
8+ years in a sales or business development management role, ideally in the A&D community.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with a proven track record of professional success.
Proven ability to plan and strategize sales activities.
Experience in presenting, influencing, and building new and existing networks.
Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines.
The office fosters a collaborative, supportive culture with regular team trips. You will have the responsibility to manage projects, take the lead, and be in a client-facing position.
This role is well-suited for architects who are confident, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Candidates who enjoy taking ownership rather than being heavily guided will excel in this role, benefiting from the studio’s culture and rapid career progression opportunities.
Additional Information:
The role is both strategic and hands-on.
Strong communication is key, as you’ll be collaborating with artists, designers, craftsmen, and business managers.
This is a 4/5-day office-based role, with occasional overseas travel required.
