JOB SUMMARY:
An innovative design studio based in Greenwich, London, renowned for its rich materiality, extraordinary craftsmanship, and multi-layered narratives, is looking to appoint a Designer to join the team. The studio’s work spans fine art, design objects, material creation, luxury interiors, and prestigious brand collaborations, known for its collaborative and entrepreneurial culture.
This role offers an opportunity to contribute across a diverse range of projects, from self-initiated pieces to commissioned works, playing a key part in the design process from early concepts through to fabrication and delivery. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on, material-led environment where precision, creativity, and craftsmanship are paramount.
The studio welcomes designers passionate about exploring varied materials and processes, eager to contribute unique expertise within a high-functioning, dynamic team.
Part I/II and qualified architects who are interested in working in a new environment, exploring new media, and focusing more on design rather than traditional built architecture would suit this role. You’ll be able to use your Rhino skills to create narrative-driven pieces, where you’ll see a faster turnaround from design to completion. The work is meaningful and personal, and the studio has strong connections with the clients they collaborate with.
Key Responsibilities:
Play an active role in conceptual development, prototyping, and preparing final fabrication files.
Work across multiple projects simultaneously, producing 3D models, technical drawings, and visualisations with precision and creativity.
Collaborate closely with the Head of Design, fabrication team, and wider studio to deliver pioneering and finely crafted work.
Engage fully in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a proactive “get stuck in” attitude.
Support the studio’s culture of innovation, teamwork, and design excellence.
Skills and Experience:
*Essential
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant creative industry.
Strong hand sketching skills.
Advanced proficiency in Rhino, KeyShot, and Adobe Suite.
Excellent organisation, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to interpret and produce complex technical drawings with meticulous attention to detail.
Solid understanding of diverse fabrication techniques and design for manufacture.
Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting with a proactive approach.
*Desirable
5+ years’ experience in a creative or design-related industry.
Experience with ZBrush, Blender, AutoCAD.
Knowledge of programming or operating CNC machines, laser cutters, and 3D printers.
Additional creative skills such as painting, sculpting, graphic design, or artworking.
This is an opportunity for a driven, curious designer eager to work within a pioneering studio environment, delivering extraordinary craftsmanship and material innovation. If you want to join a team where your creativity and technical expertise can flourish, this role is for you.
