JOB SUMMARY:

An established interior design studio based in West London is seeking a Studio Director to join and lead a team of approximately 10 designers. The studio operates at the intersection of interior architecture and design, delivering projects across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.

Their portfolio includes high-end residential projects, working directly with private homeowners as well as operators of some of the world’s leading luxury hotel brands.

This is a newly created leadership position within the studio, designed to support the creative director and design teams by strengthening operational structure, project delivery, and client management. The role will suit a commercially minded design leader who enjoys building systems, supporting people, and ensuring consistency and excellence across the studio.

The successful candidate will have led interior design and architectural projects through all stages and will have a strong understanding of what exceptional luxury design looks and feels like — not only aesthetically, but operationally and commercially.

Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves daily interaction with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams. The studio is seeking a leader with excellent management capability — someone highly organised, fair, and structured, who can balance creative sensitivity with operational rigour. Leadership is a critical part of this role. The Studio Director will inspire, motivate, and support teams through complex project challenges while creating a positive and accountable studio culture.

The business is entering an important growth phase and requires someone who can implement clear processes, streamline operations, and improve project performance and profitability. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Qualified Architect, Interior Designer, or Interior Architect.

  • Proven experience delivering interior design-led projects valued at £1m+ across the EMEA region.

  • Demonstrable track record managing projects from an operational and commercial perspective.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in client-facing roles and leadership positions.

  • At least 10 years’ experience managing teams of up to 15 people.

  • Experience implementing processes and operational systems is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of FF&E, interior design, and architectural coordination.

  • Strong technical knowledge and delivery awareness, with the ability to review and assess technical documentation and drawings.

  • Experience in a role that has supported a design team and projects.


    The first six months will be primarily office-based to support onboarding and integration with the team.
